We are an online human translation platform that allows quick, affordable and high quality translation in 100+ languages by, much like UBER, leveraging automatically assigned and rated close-by human translators and mobile app technology. Stepes offers an intuitive smartphone app and a website that push content to its network of 60,000+ translators. Anyone with multilingual skills can sign-up. This peer-to-peer system allows document uploads, live-chat translation, phone calls to close-by translators and the booking of an interpreter. The Stepes mobile translation platform was launched in Beijing in January 2016 by technology entrepreneur and CSOFT VP of global strategy Carl Yao. Stepes stands for Social Translation Experiment Project and Eco System and refers to the Eurasian Steppes, where the world’s major languages originated from around 5,000 years ago.
