Free simple web app that names protein expression constructs when given a sequence. pro2nick generates unique nicknames for engineered protein sequences. It takes an amino acid sequence and assembles a recognizable nickname based on the most related gene and to modifications thereto. Adhering to pro2nick-generated names reduces uncertainty and clarifies communication between protein scientists.
