As our business world has become more and more digital, a lot of boring, repetitive manual tasks feel like "robot work". In my case, things like copying and pasting always the same data from one place to another, updating an Excel pricesheet or system with new supplier prices received in Excel format, fetching updated data from a web system for custom reports in Excel, and so much more. Realising that a daily 15mns task done by someone earning 30k/year costs the company 1,000/year and distracts that person from more rewarding, value-generating tasks, automating seemed to be the solution. Automation also brings the benefits of "always on", speed, no errors (or at least never twice the same error!) and scalability. Having implemented a lot of in-house built automation in my previous startup to help us scale with limited resources, I realised there was potential in helping companies automate some of their tasks and processes without the need for them to have to buy, implement and operate expensive Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software.
