HiRide is an evolution of the carpooling application for long distance travel. HiRide’s mission to improve the interaction between riders and drivers. Targeting post-secondary students, our goal has always been to provides our users with utmost trust, transparency, accountability and safety. With HiRide’s founding team comprises of post-secondary students, the team has the advantage for being able to fully understand the problems of carpooling, since we too have experienced the problems first hand. As a team, we believe in solving the problems that users have rather than the symptoms of the problems We ensure safety for both riders and drivers with our live GPS tracker, peer to peer rating system, last minute cancellation fee, student verification option, and in app messaging. With our interest based algorithms, students riders will be paired with student drivers that have similar interests. The goal is to change the carpooling experience from an awkward and unsafe process to a social and more comfortable ride in which students can connect with each other.
