ClassX lets teachers from around the world create courses for free, enroll unlimited students for free and connect with their student Facebook-style. Combined with this, teachers can sell their course and group access and digital teaching resources in the ClassX marketplace. Payment is made easy through the inbuilt Xcoin virtual currency payment system that keeps all money circulating internal. Monetization is achieved through a number of avenues. First, Xcoin is bought and sold at a buy-sell spread with a margin of either 20% or 40%. Second, there is a Pro Teacher membership that grants teachers access to extra features. Third, Teachers can connect with students for tutoring sessions in the built-in Zoom integration. Students pay with Xcoin, which affords ClassX a commission. Fourth, all marketplace sales affords ClassX a commission via the buy-sell spread. Fifth, minimal and highly targeted advertising is placed on activity feeds and blog sidebars. Ultimately, users are enticed to join ClassX because of world-class LMS and social networking features that are free forever, but as they create more content or need more features, the revenue base of ClassX will grow rapidly.
