In an attempt to stop the cost sprawl associated with growning / larger AWS deployments, I have created the awsrightsizer project to assist companies and individuals with reigning in their AWS monthly spend. The tool uses the average usage (by default over 30 days) of instances (both EC2 and RDS) and suggests a more appropriate server type for the load associated. This is a totally open source project.
