Unorganized retail sector of India faces challenges and some of the challenges are - Lack of technology innovation in customer relationship and supply-chain management, - Lack of standardization, - Stiff competition from organized retail sector - Lack of knowledge, skills and training, and - Consumers shifting towards organized retail markets. We, at AppiVa are trying to help unorganized retail sector to be more tech savvy and reach more consumers. Based on our study and interaction with Kirana shops, we have found that offers are in par or better than organized retail counterparts but these offerings limited to a locality. Unorganized retail sector is $500 billion(2015) and expected to grow trillion dollar by 2023, with 9 million retailers. However, technology innovation is almost nonexistent in this sector. Our solution would help to bring technology into this sector which is backbone of retail industry.
