QBOtoExcel is a free, privacy-first converter that turns QuickBooks .qbo bank transaction files into XLSX or CSV — entirely inside your browser. A .qbo file is a transaction stream exported by QuickBooks: every deposit and withdrawal that hit a bank account, packaged in a format QuickBooks understands but a spreadsheet does not. QBOtoExcel reads those STMTTRN records and turns each one into a spreadsheet row, with columns for date, transaction type, amount, name, memo, transaction ID, and account. That gives you a table you can sort, filter, subtotal, and hand to anyone. The workflow is deliberately minimal. Drop in a .qbo file, let the converter parse it locally, and download the output as XLSX (for a workbook you can keep working in) or CSV (for importing into another tool or database). No account, no QuickBooks installation, and no upload to a server — your bank activity never leaves your device. Typical uses include monthly bank reconciliation, sending clean transaction detail to an accountant, building simple cash-flow views in Excel, and moving bank data into another system. QBOtoExcel does not replace QuickBooks accounting and is not a ledger backup tool; it is the fastest way to get one .qbo file into a spreadsheet. Roadmap: batch conversion for multiple files, support for related financial formats such as OFX and QFX, and a Pro plan for higher-volume use are coming soon. QBOtoExcel is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Intuit or QuickBooks.
